Your User ID and password info is listed on your hard copy award letter and included in email correspondence with you. Your User ID includes numbers only, no letters. If you are unable to locate your User ID or password, please contact the Financial Aid office at 765.998.5358.

  1. For an overview of the service - Click on Textbook Butler at bottom of page.
  2. Click LOG IN at top right of page. Username is your Taylor email address. Password is your Student ID number.

TOUCHNET (Adding an authorized parent or guardian for student account) – Follow the TOUCHNET link in
myTAYLOR
  1. Click LOG IN at top right of page
  2. Login using your Taylor University Network Username and Password
  3. Click on Authorized Users at the top of the page.
  4. Click on Add Authorized User
  5. Enter the authorized user’s information and click Continue
  6. Check the box to agree with the terms and click Continue
  7. The authorized user should receive two email messages. The first will contain their username (email account). The second email will contain their temporary password and the link they will use to log into TouchNet the first time.
  8. At the TouchNet log in page, the authorized user will enter their email address and the temporary password that was sent to them.
  9. After logging in, the authorized user will need to update their profile information and enter a new password.
  10. Click Save to record the changes.
  11. *PLEASE NOTE: If the authorized user has multiple students, and wishes to see all of the records under one account, they must enter the same password used for logging in to the existing student’s TouchNet account. 

TOWER – STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS – Providing parent or guardian proxy access to academic information.
  1. Introduction - Taylor University’s TOWER Proxy provides your parent or guardian on-line access to your academic information. TOWER Proxy gives you, the student, complete control of the process and allows you to authorize anyone with a valid e-mail address on-line access to your academic information.
  2. FERPA NOTICE - You, the student, control who is designated as a proxy. You also choose what information your proxy can access. Designating someone proxy privileges will not be interpreted by Taylor University as providing a FERPA release allowing the university to share additional private student information. If you wish to grant permission to the university to share private information with an individual, such as a parent, a signed FERPArelease must be on file in the Registrar’s Office.

  4. Follow the TOWER link inside myTAYLOR
  5. Click on the TOWER Proxy Access tab
  6. Click on Proxy Management on the TOWER Proxy Access menu
  7. Click on Add Proxy
  8. There are two ways you can add a proxy. You can choose from a list of previously created proxies or enter the appropriate information to create a new proxy.
  9. After adding a proxy, select the relationship role (Parent or Legal Guardian), and enter a description for the individual. This MUST be done first.
  10. Move to the Authorization tab and select the information you wish the individual to access. Click on a box to grant access to that area of information. You do not need to Save; just check the box.
  11. You have completed the necessary steps to create a proxy account for your parent or guardian. Your proxy will receive an e-mail notifying them that the account has been created. The e-mail will provide them with a username (their e-mail address) and a temporary PIN/Password as well as a link for them to complete the registration/authentication process and reset the temporary PIN.

TOWER – PARENT INSTRUCTIONS – Providing parent or guardian proxy access to academic information.
  1. FERPA NOTICE - Your student controls who is designated as a proxy and what information the individual can see. Designating an individual proxy privileges will not be interpreted by Taylor University as providing a FERPA release allowing the university to share additional private student information. In order for the university to share private information with you as a parent or guardian, your student must have a signed FERPA release on file in the Registrar’s Office.
  2. Establishing an account
  3. Your student must first create a TOWER Proxy account using your valid e-mail address.
  4. When the account is created, you will receive an e-mail with authentication instructions.
  5. Click on the link provided. The following web page will open in your default browser. Enter the temporary PIN provided by the e-mail. Click the “Submit” button.
  6. NOTE: You will be able to click on the provided link only ONCE. If you happen to close your browser before completing the process, you will need your student to reset your PIN which will generate another message allowing you to complete the process.
  7. You will be asked to reset your temporary PIN. To do this, enter your e-mail address used to create the account and enter the temporary PIN (sent to you in the e-mail) as the Old PIN. Create and enter a new PIN. Enter the new PIN in the “Validate PIN” field. Click “Save.”
  8. After resetting your PIN, you will be directed to the TOWER Proxy Access page. You will need to update the required information before accessing your student’s information. This includes: Mailing address, City, State, Country.
  9. If you have more than one student at Taylor who has authorized you to access their information, all of the names will appear across the page. To access your student’s on-line academic information, click on their name.
  10. Click on the link to view the information listed. A new window will open with that information.
  11. When you are finished viewing the information, close the browser window or click EXIT. You will be returned to the TOWER Proxy Access Home.
  12. To exit the system, first click on the profile tab, then click on exit at the top of the page.
  13. You may now close the browser.
