Teams Phone - Transferring Calls

Transferring calls on Teams desk phones

There are 2 ways to transfer calls using Teams, Direct Transfer or Consult than Transfer.  Direct Transfer immediately transfers the call, the Consult than Transfer method puts the caller on hold while you call and talk with the intended transfer number.

Direct Transfer:

When you’re in a call, press either the Transfer button on the screen...

And select “Transfer Now” if you would like to immediately transfer the call.

Or...

Press the physical transfer button to the left of the dial pad.

Start typing the name of the person you want to transfer the call to and select them when they appear.

Consult then transfer:

You may want to check in with someone before you transfer a call.

While in a call, press the “Transfer” button on the screen.

At the bottom of the screen, press “**Consult First.**”

Begin typing in the name of the person you would like to consult and select them.

Once you have asked the person if you can transfer a call to them, transfer the call by clicking the phone icon in the top right of your screen.

If the person is unable to take the call at the moment, press the “play” button in the top right (see above picture) to pick up the previous call and tell them that the person they were trying to reach is unable to take their call at the moment.
