How to Map A Network to Taylor Shared Files - University Common (Windows)
For all university owned computers, shared network drives should already be available as the U: drive.
On a personally owned computer, you can map a network drive using the following steps:
Map a Network Drive
- Open File Explorer. This can be opened from the taskbar or the Start menu, or press the **Windows logo key ** + E.
- Select This PC from the left pane. Two Ways:
- On the File Explorer ribbon, select Computer > Map network drive.
- Right Click This PC > Click
- In the Drive list, select a drive letter. (Any available letter will do.)
- In the Folder box, type the path of the folder or computer or select Browse to find the folder or computer.
- \\filesrv.campus.tayloru.edu\UniversityCommon
- Select Finish.
- You will be asked to authenticate to gain access to the file share. Please use the following username format “campus\[username - no @]”
Note: If you are off campus, please use the Taylor VPN.
