How do I locate my IP address or MAC Address?

First, let's describe what an IP address and MAC address look like, so that you know how to identify them.
 
IP ADDRESS: 4 sets of numbers separated by periods. Taylor campus IP addresses always start with 10.
Example: 10.11.12.13

MAC ADDRESS: 6 pairs of characters separated by either - or :. A MAC address can contain numbers 0-9 and letters A - F. (MAC Address is sometimes also called "Physical Address".)
Example: A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6

There are a couple of ways to find out your IP address and MAC Address. Here are the easiest:
 
APPLE
macOS

  1. From the Apple Menu, select System Preferences  
  2. Click on Network  
  3. Click on the connection you wish to find the MAC address on the left and click Advanced. 
  4. Click on the Hardware tab that appears on the right. 
  5. The MAC address will be listed on the top of that screen.

new macOS

  1. From the Apple Menu, select System Preferences  
  2. Click on Network  
  3. Click on Wi-Fi
  4. Click on Details
  5. On the Tab, click on TCP/IP for the IP address. 
  6. On the Tab, click on Hardware for the MAC adress.

iPhone/iPad

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap About
  4. The MAC address is listed here as the Wi-Fi Address.

Apple TV

  1. Go to the main menu on your Apple TV and select Settings. 
  2. In the Settings Menu, select About
  3. MAC address will either be listed as Wireless ID or Ethernet ID.

MICROSOFT
Windows

  1. Press the Windows button + R on your keyboard. 
  2. Type in “cmd” (without quotes). This will launch the command prompt. 
  3. Type “ipconfig/all” (without quotes). 
  4. Your MAC address will be listed to the right on the line titled 'Physical Address' under Local Area Connection or Wireless Connect.

Xbox One

  1. Go to Settings on the home screen. 
  2. Select Network
  3. Select Advanced Settings  
  4. Both the Wired and the Wireless MAC address should be shown on the right.

ANDROID

  1. Go the Settings menu 
  2. Select About Phone
  3. Select Status

SONY:

PS4

  1. Open Settings  
  2. Select Network  
  3. Select View Connection Status
  4. Both the Wired and the Wireless MAC address should be shown on the right.

PS5

  1. On the home screen, click on the settings icon (gear)
  2. Select System
  3. Under System Software, select Console Information
  4. You will see the MAC addresses for LAN cable (wired) and Wi-Fi.

NINTENDO

Nintendo DS

  1. Insert a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (WFC) compatible game. 
  2. Access the WFC Setup Utility —this varies by game, but the setup utility is a standard menu in all WFC compatible games. 
  3. In the utility, tap Options and then System Information
  4. The MAC address will be listed on the System Information screen.

Nintendo 3DS

  1. From the HOME menu, highlight and select the System Settings Icon. 
  2. Select Internet Settings
  3. Tap Other Information  
  4. Tap Confirm MAC Address , your system’s MAC Address will be displayed on the screen.

ROKU
From the Home screen, press the up arrow to make the Menu Bar appear.
Select Settings.
Select Player Info.
Note: The MAC address may also be listed on the back of your Roku box.

AMAZON FIRE TV:

  1. From the Home Screen scroll down to Settings
  2. Tap on Settings and scroll over to About 
  3. Select About and next select Network  
  4. From there you should see the MAC Address

BLU-RAY PLAYERS:

  1. Press Home , Setup , and Network  
  2. Choose the Connection Status option 
  3. The MAC address will be listed.

LINUX:

  1. Right click on the network arrow's and select Edit Connections  
  2. In the Network Connections, click on your Ethernet adapter so it's orange and select Edit
  3. The Device MAC address shows the MAC address 
  4. You can also type “ifconfig”(without quotes) in terminal to get the MAC Address.
